Heart Wise Exercise and TIA / Non-Disabling Stroke

The University of Ottawa Heart Institute and the Champlain Regional Stroke Network joined forces to ensure Heart Wise Exercise programs are suitable for people who have experienced a transient ischemic attack (TIA) or a non-disabling stroke. The Heart Institute is now working to expand this partnership across the province to all of Ontario’s Regional Stroke Networks.

Who Is Eligible?
Anyone can participate in Heart Wise Exercise classes, providing your doctor has recommended physical activity for you. If you have had a stroke or TIA, have a conversation with your health practitioner about how much exercise is safe for you.
